1. Marketplace role
HayQuotes is a marketplace operated by TipMunk SASU that helps hay buyers describe a need, receive supplier quotes, compare options, and connect with a selected supplier. HayQuotes is not the seller, buyer, carrier, warehouse, inspector, broker of record, employer, or agent of either party. The buyer and supplier contract with and pay each other directly.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter contracts. If you act for a farm, ranch, company, or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it. Information you submit must be accurate, current, and lawful.
3. Requests, quotes, and acceptance
A request is an invitation for quotes, not a promise to buy. A quote must clearly state the quantity priced, bale format or unit, approximate weight when requested, fulfillment method, currency, timing, and one final total for the stated quantity. Supplier notes may add context but do not replace required pricing fields. A buyer accepts a quote by selecting it through the private tracking page. Acceptance releases the buyer's and selected supplier's contact details so they can finalize the transaction directly.
Availability, crop condition, transportation, taxes, unloading, stacking, and other details may change before the parties complete their direct agreement. Each party must verify any material term before exchanging money or goods.
4. Direct transaction and payment
HayQuotes does not collect the purchase price for hay or delivery. Buyers pay suppliers directly using a method they agree upon. Suppliers are responsible for lawful invoicing, taxes, permits, transportation requirements, and fulfillment. Buyers are responsible for inspecting hay, confirming suitability for their animals or intended use, and following safe feeding and storage practices.
5. Supplier marketplace fee
Submitting a quote is free. If a quote is selected, HayQuotes sends one introduction and order-action email to each party. For a one-time purchase, the supplier owes the disclosed marketplace fee, currently 5%, only after the supplier actually receives payment from the buyer. That fee is calculated from the final amount received for the completed order, not automatically from the original quote.
For a request labeled Recurring supply or Looking for a long-term supplier, the supplier instead owes a one-time $500 success fee in the quote currency only after the first transaction is completed and the supplier has been paid. HayQuotes charges no fee on future orders between the same buyer and supplier.
The supplier uses the private order page to confirm buyer contact and mark the order scheduled, completed, or cancelled. After a completed, paid order, the supplier reports the final order total. HayQuotes provides a three-calendar-day review period before generating an invoice. An open issue or a report that the sale did not occur places billing on hold. Fees below USD/CAD $100 are held and are not invoiced individually. A Stripe invoice, when issued, is due under the payment terms shown on that invoice.
6. Cancellations, changes, and issues
Either party may report that a sale did not complete before a marketplace-fee invoice is issued. Material changes to quantity or price must be recorded as the actual final amount. If a quality, quantity, delivery, payment, or communication problem arises, the parties should first try to resolve it directly and may document the issue through HayQuotes. HayQuotes may review records and facilitate communication but does not guarantee a refund, replacement, collection, or particular outcome.
7. Communications
By submitting a request or quote, you consent to transactional email and, where selected, SMS messages needed to operate that request or order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS. Marketing consent is optional and separate. Suppliers may reply “Remove” to stop future opportunity outreach.
8. Acceptable use
You may not submit false information, impersonate another person, interfere with the service, scrape private data, misuse private links, send unlawful material, evade a fee earned through a HayQuotes introduction, or use the service in violation of applicable law. We may suspend access, remove content, or preserve records when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or enforcement.
9. Disclaimers
HayQuotes is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HayQuotes disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant any supplier, buyer, hay quality, laboratory result, availability, delivery, price, or transaction outcome.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HayQuotes and its operators, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost animals, crop or feed losses, or disputes between users. Our aggregate liability relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the marketplace fees paid to HayQuotes for the transaction at issue or USD $100. Mandatory rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify HayQuotes and its operators from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your information, quote, sale, purchase, delivery, taxes, legal violations, or breach of these terms, except to the extent prohibited by law.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms prospectively. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be posted here, and continued use after they take effect means you accept the updated terms. Questions or legal notices may be sent to support@hayquotes.com.
